The park was beautiful. The fall colors in the trees, the gorgeous colors of the lakes, and the rushing waterfalls were all breathtaking. I'll admit that the "big waterfall" was a trickle compared to the pictures of Plitvice, so I bought a picture book of what it must look like in the spring.

Beautiful time of year to visit the park. We went on a Sunday and it was busy but not like I imagine summer would be. Easy walking trail, the fall colors were vibrant and the lakes an incredible color. I wouldn't highly recommend.

It was in October when everything is very colorful. The views are spectacular. There are not that much people and we really enjoyed the place

In the national park it is colder by about 5 - 7 degrees than in Zadar (this should be taken into account). You can get there by flix bus. Overall it was beautiful, however, you need to be careful on the footbridges. People come with large dogs, I think this is dangerous and should be prohibited. In addition, the route F was on one of the sites on the Internet differently described than in reality (you go by boat from p1 to p2 and p2 to p3 - unless it was someone on site misdirected us). Park beautiful, impressions unforgettable, clean, there was no trash. Cool boat cruise. People quite a lot for October and the average season, I can not imagine what crowds are on vacations :) I recommend to everyone :)

One of the most beatifull placca I have ever seen in my entire life, trust me!
Actually the atmosphere that you breath fells like magic.
Workers were so kind and they helped us in order to understand what should be the best for us (vivendo our preferences and time of arrival).
It was not crowded at all: the right amount of people for a Sunday!

Very positive experience in a place full of charm made at a time of year when the autumn variation in the color of tree leaves range from green to yellow, to different shades of red

Perhaps the season is the weather was on our side, autumn played well with its colors...brushstrokes of yellow, red and orange created a precious setting for the lakes. Definitely would love to come back!

Plitvice National Park – Absolutely Breathtaking!
Visiting Plitvice in the fall was an unforgettable experience. The colors were out of this world; vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold reflecting off the turquoise lakes made it feel like stepping into a painting. The waterfalls were stunning, and the crisp autumn air made hiking the trails even more enjoyable.
Another huge plus: fewer crowds compared to summer! It felt peaceful and easy to take in the beauty at our own pace. Personally, I think fall is the best time to visit, the combination of colorful trees and crystal-clear water is simply magical.

What to do at Kravice Waterfalls, Bosnia?
Enjoy the view
Upon arriving at Kravica Waterfall, the first thing that will catch your eye is the sight of water tumbling over the limestone cliffs into a crystal-clear pool below. Find a comfortable spot on the surrounding rocks or grassy banks to take in the view. The sound of rushing water, combined with the lush green colors of the flora, creates a peaceful setting for relaxation.
Go for a refreshing swim
For those looking to cool off, the crystal-clear waters of Kravica Falls are perfect for a quick dip. Fed by the Trezibit River, the water temperature remains a brisk 20-25°C year-round. However, please exercise caution near the base of the falls, where the current is strong and unsafe for swimming. Stay in the safer spots just a short distance from the powerful cascades.
Discover the local flora and fauna
Beyond the waterfalls, the entire park is a haven for nature enthusiasts. The area is home to a variety of animals, including deer, boar, snakes, and frogs. Bird watchers will be delighted to spot numerous species in the trees and bushes. The vegetation is equally impressive, with chaste trees, poplars, figs, and a thick layer of moss and lichens covering the rocks.
Have a picnic by the waterfall
The area around Kravica waterfalls is perfect for a picnic. There are designated spots where you can sit back and enjoy a meal with the soothing sounds of the falls in the background. Just bring along some snacks and drinks, spread out a blanket, and spend a lazy afternoon surrounded by nature's beauty.
Go canoeing or kayaking
If you're looking for a bit more adventure, consider renting a canoe or kayak. For around 8-10 euros, you can paddle around the serene waters surrounding the falls. This is a great way to see the area from a different angle, letting you get closer to the cascades—just not too close, as the current is quite strong near the base.
Enjoy a hiking adventure
For those who love to explore on foot, there are several hiking trails around Kravica Waterfall. These trails vary in difficulty and length, offering something for both casual walkers and avid hikers. As you hike, you'll see different perspectives of the falls and the surrounding landscape.
Try local delicacies
The two restaurants near the waterfall offer a range of local delicacies so that you can savor the traditional flavors of Bosnia and Herzegovina. You can enjoy dishes like burek (a kind of savory pastry), cevapi (grilled and minced meat dish), and fresh river fish while enjoying views of the waterfall.
